The Business Studies Department focuses on all aspects of the business profession, including accounting, economics, banking, entrepreneurship and marketing. The Department provides a framework for building a successful career in the private, public or the nonprofit sector.

The department also offers CAMS, ATD, and CPA courses that are examined by KASNEB
Mode of Delivery
The mode of delivery for both diploma and craft programmes is:-
Structured course work,
Project work
Industrial attachments.
All these are aimed at providing the trainee with knowledge, skills, attitudes, competencies and confidence to enable one work competitively in an organization or in self-employment.
The courses aim at providing the trainees with knowledge skills and attitudes to enable him or her to:-
Enter the world of work with confidence for either salaried employment or self employment.
Operate either as a craftsman or perform middle level supervisory functions.
Become responsive and relevant to the country’s human resources required at middle level.
Effectively perform Human resource management functions necessary for the achievement of organizational goals.
Apply management principles in human resource and business performance evaluation and implement procedures and processes related to business Management.
Perform supply Chain management as a middle level manager in an organization.
Understand various intervention measures in solving social problems in a society.
Communicate effectively in day-to-day business management activities.
Carry out banking activities.
Operate as entrepreneurship consultants for macro and micro entrepreneurs
Carry out sales and marketing activities.
Enable the trainees to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in establishing therapeutic relationships wherever they are working.
The diploma courses are divided into three modules 1,2 and 3 while crafts certificate courses are divided into two modules 1 and 2.
A craft graduate can use her/his certificates as a stepping stone to advance in her/his area of specializations in the diploma level. This enables her/him to join Diploma at module 2 in the same course.
A diploma graduate can effectively work in an organization as a supervisor while craft certificate graduates possess some aspects of supervisory skills which would be necessary to supervise artisans at operational level and also co-ordinate their work.
