Mr. Joseph A. Mungai Chairman, Board of Governors
KIST is proud to have championed TVET in Ke¬nya when very few institutions saw the need to fill that gap. Since its inception in 1973, the Institute has continued to offer quality training at middle level and has graduated thousands in the fields of applied sciences, building and civil engineering, business and entrepreneur-ship, computer and ICT, electrical and electronics, bakery and food & beverage
Forty years in existence and still growing strong, the In-stitute now celebrates its 11th graduation, ISO 9001:2008 Certification and KASNEB accreditation. As we celebrate these milestones, we wish to thank all those that have jour¬neyed this long road to success with us. Our gratitude goes to the Government of Kenya for its continued support in provision of recurrent expenditure and development funds, provision of teaching staff through the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and bursary allocations through High¬er Education Loans Boards (HELB) for the needy TVET
The Board also acknowledges the consolidated effort from the teaching and the non-teaching staff that steered the institute to ISO 9001:2008 Certification. This interna¬tional standard puts KIST in the limelight and all of us, in our various capacities, are obligated to work towards bet¬tering our good for continual improvement and growth.
To all Grandaunts, let the Diploma or Certificate you have acquired be an important landmark in your academic journey. Soar to greater heights by continuously improving your academic qualifications, knowledge, and life skills for a better today and tomorrow not only for yourself but also for all Kenyans through the services that you are now empowered to offer.
We look forward to working with all our stakeholders to-wards realization of our Vision. Through collective effort, KIST will become what the founders had envisioned; A centre of Excellence in Technical and Vocational Educa¬tion and Training (TVET).
